Friends,
the first week of Britannia’s activity – the new Ultima Online game server based on the mechanics of Second Age and Renaissance add-ons – is behind us. This time has proven that this great MMORPG game still has a large group of fans who are ready to cross the threshold of our new, common world without hesitation. Thank you for the many, very positive opinions about it. It’s nice to see Britannia come to life with each passing day, attracting more and more fans. As in the game world, the first seeds of factions are formed, the first houses are built, and the first craftsman equipment are forged. I would like to add that the group of Britannia inhabitants is slowly beginning to give way to the size of the Sosaria server community during its rapid development. And it is a very good omen for the future, motivating us to work hard. At this point, I invite you all, both new Players and Veterans, who remember with nostalgia the golden times of UO – to play together. According to those who are already with us – it is really worth coming here 🙂
In recent days, Britannia and the UO Endless Journey server – Sosaria, have received new updates that, due to their special nature, require noting. In particular, he considers the implementation of a system of unique names on both servers worthy of note. This means that on both servers there will no longer be a situation in which two different characters (also different players) will share the same name. Currently, newly created characters, who will be given names already owned by another character, will be asked – through a new window in the game – to change their name to a different one. Until this is done, such characters will no longer be able to move around the game world.
I do not hide that currently – in the area of Ultima Online – we focus our attention on Britannia, where we strive to remove the revealed elements that conflict with the assumptions of the Second Age / Renaissance eras. Nevertheless, and Sosaria – after the last change of the Shard Code – there will be further major update changes soon. However, this is a topic for a separate entry 🙂
Latest UO server update list:
Britannia server (T2A/UOT):
- a system of unique names has been implemented on the server. As a result, it will no longer be possible to give the newly created character a name identical to the name of an existing character in the game world. If such a name was chosen, the character will receive a temporary nickname “Generic Player” and a window for choosing a new name will be displayed on the screen;
- regions of guard activity in moongate public spaces have been disabled, because they did not exist during the current Game Age;
- the restriction on the use of public moongates for characters with criminal status has been disabled;
- a character moving through public moongates will no longer enter the hidden status after reaching the destination point;
- fixed issues with missing repair options in the tailor’s crafting menu;
- the option to ban characters from player buildings has been removed. Keep an eye on the keys to the house and in case of doubt whether they fell into the wrong hands (the keys will no longer have the newbied status) – change the locks on the key doors!
- fixed an issue where some closed doors could be opened in players’ buildings despite the lack of the required key;
- the bug with some NPC characters displaying the option to learn ninjitsu skills not available in the UOR / T2A era has been fixed;
- an error with the fact that the required level of training of a character was not counted as part of training tasks in the New Haven region has been fixed;
- fixed a bug which resulted in not keeping the status of the identified item for clothing with magic parameters after a server reset;
- the bug with the generation of Honesty items in the game world has been fixed. New items of this type will no longer appear;
- the problem of incorrectly hiding the parameters of non-magic items and qualifying them as unidentified items, which limited the possibility of using them without prior identification, has been removed;
- critical error has been removed regarding the incompatibility of some spellbook parameters with the T2A / UOR era used, which resulted in possible instability of the game server;
- fixed a bug that caused components and necromantic scrolls to appear in loot from minions. They have been replaced with mage ingredients (applies to creatures born after the patch);
- an error with incorrectly assigning the type of ore and its type parameters to weapons forged by a blacksmith has been fixed (including the color of the item);
- fixed an error which resulted in the lack of displaying in the descriptions of items the type of ore / skin used for the production of equipment and information about its creator;
- an error limiting the display of the amount of remaining usable items to be used has been fixed – in particular tools such as a pickaxe.
Sosaria server (EJ):
- a system of unique names has been implemented on the server. As a result, it will no longer be possible to give the newly created character a name identical to the name of an existing character in the game world. If such a name was chosen, the character will receive a temporary nickname “Generic Player” and a window for choosing a new name will be displayed on the screen;
- the permissible character limit on the account has been reduced from 5 to 3. Excess characters from the accounts should be removed or transferred to free slots (eg on the second account) by 30.01.2021;
- full Lower Reagent Cost set available in New Haven have been removed from the game start area.
