Scroll of Artificter:
With the introduction of item enchants in PR7 we sought to give players the ability to craft weapons and armor that could be customized to appeal to a specific style of gameplay. With the ramp up of artifact and lesser artifact drops in PR9 we realized that we needed to give player crafters the ability to create artifact items that can complete and even surpass those earned via farming monsters. It is with this goal in mind that we are happy to announce the addition of Scrolls of the Artificer.
What do they do?
Scrolls of the Artificer will provide a temporary buff to players that allow them a chance to craft artifact sets when creating any weapon, armor, or shield. Not only can players craft artifacts but they will be able to craft artifact sets that share the same enchantments.
Artifact sets will be unique per server and as such will be “discovered” by players who craft an item of that set for the first time. Each time an item from the same set is crafted in the future the item will display the name of the character that discovered the set.
PR9 will be released with 200+ unique sets that players can discover and craft. Each one fulfilling a specific niche. Players will be able to earn Artificer Scrolls from completing crafting orders. The higher level the crafting order the longer the duration of the scroll that can be rewarded. This coupled with the crafting speed bonus provided by completing the crafting profession quest lines will give more advanced crafters a much higher success rate in crafting artifact sets during the scrolls duration.
How do materials change the artifact?
It is important that the rarity of resources play into the crafting of artifact sets. Each artifact crafted will have a small chance to be “Cursed”. Cursed items still take durability loss during use, but will not be lootable when the owner is killed. Increasing the rarity of the resource used when crafting the artifact will give a greater chance for the artifact to gain the cursed bonus during the crafting process.
We look forward to seeing all the amazing items that players will end up crafting and additionally, and most especially, look forward to purchasing these items from the bazaar and player shops!
